The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) aims to foster a culture of innovation &
entrepreneurship (I&E) in the institute by educating and inspiring students to
pursue entrepreneurial ventures with a focus on capacity building & collaboration.
IISc Innovation Council (IIC) is setup along the lines of Institution’s Innovation Council, which is an initiative of Ministry of Education (MoE) in collaboration with AICTE for implementation of National Innovation & Startup Policy (NISP) via a Digital platform. It is formed with an aim to foster Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) while establishing and stabilizing an innovative ecosystem in the institute for addressing challenges to build & sustain a thriving I&E ecosystem. It is to be done by involving institute leadership to formulate and implement I&E policy. Also to engage faculty, students, and staff in I&E activities by organizing relevant and useful activities and initiatives.
Innovation Support Center at JRD Tata Library is well stocked with books on innovation & entrepreneurship. Students can use this place to learn as well as to discuss/brainstorm on their startup ideas.

The institution’s innovation council of IISc has provided a podium to explore my entrepreneurial journey while during my research. The council has cultivated creativity and
problem solving and provided guidance to tackle real world
problem by innovation.
Student Member
Tandem was a two weeks immersion program for young researchers interested in start-up founding and early-stage start-up founders from India and Germany. Participants worked in teams to generate innovative ideas, undergo training for bringing research ideas to market and get exposure to start-up and innovation ecosystems of India and Germany.
The State Level Consortium is designed to foster a decentralized approach and institutionalize IIC institutions within a specific state/UT. This collaborative effort aims to enhance governance and facilitate the growth of the IIC network.
The event titled “Driving Innovation with IP: Strategic Approaches to Commercialization” is designed to bridge this gap by bringing together leaders, industry professionals, innovators, and IP experts to discuss how businesses can leverage intellectual property to enhance innovation, secure competitive advantages, and generate commercial success. The event will move beyond generating IP awareness and emphasize on monetizing and leveraging IP for value creation. By bringing together experts from industry, academia, startups, academia, universities, national bodies, regulatory bodies and other innovation facilitating agencies, the event will foster partnerships that can drive innovation ecosystems and accelerate technology licensing and commercialisation.
